SFBC's February Presentations

This February, Seniors First BC was proud to present to older adults throughout the Lower Mainland, including in Coquitlam, Langley, and Vancouver. Here’s what our team has been up to:

1. Sharing information about Frauds & Scams, Seniors First BC delivered a presentation on Feb. 20 to a group of 56 older English, Chinese, and Farsi speakers for their Fun Friday event at SHARE Family & Community Services in Coquitlam. Special thanks to staff and volunteers for providing interpretation and translation! Photo: Xiawei Li (SFBC), Hanan Mirzaei (SHARE), Linda Yauk (SFBC), Dilber Mahmoud (SHARE).

2. Advance Planning was the discussion topic at Sunridge Retirement Home in Langley on Feb. 23. Our volunteer lawyer Kepler Rotheisler (Cedar Coast Law) delivered this presentation to an engaged group of residents.

3. Women Helping Others (WHO) in Coquitlam invited us to speak to their group on Feb. 25, which nicely coincided with Pink Shirt Day. Linda Yauk spoke about Elder Abuse and Seniors First BC programs.

4. We were pleased to present at Kensington Community Centre on Feb. 26 where Xiaowei Li shared information about Seniors First BC programs and services along with an overview of elder abuse and neglect.
