Taking place each year on September 30th, the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation is a day for all Canadians to honour the resilience, dignity, and achievements of survivors and intergenerational survivors of Residential Schools, Day schools, and Indian hospitals. We learn everyday how colonization generally continues to impact Indigenous communities.
At Seniors First BC, we work towards Truth and Reconciliation by working with remarkable Indigenous people and engaging in dedicated outreach to serve Indigenous Elders and older adults.
Our office will be closed today to observe the statutory holiday. Our Seniors Abuse & Information Line will return to its regular service tomorrow, Sunday, October 1st, 2023, while the rest of our programs will reopen on Tuesday, October 3rd, 2023.
Seniors First BC is a charitable, non-profit society that provides information, advocacy, and support to seniors across BC who are dealing with issues affecting their well-being.
