SFBC Events in May

Over the last week, Linda Yauk (Public Education & Outreach) has been busy representing us at community events.

She was invited to join the new Seniors Program at Gastown-Hastings Crossing Community Policing Centre (Vancouver) to paint flowerpots, socialize, and talk about our services.

Linda also delivered a special presentation for the Co-operative Housing Federation of BC on May 24. Participants learned about elder abuse and social isolation (risk factors, impacts, resources), discussed a case study and explored how co-op housing can support older adults to reduce social isolation and age-in-place. Special thanks to Ed Dagsaan (Education Director) for inviting us to this Spring Education Forum.
