Here’s Carolyne Pennell, Community Connector at the Seniors Outreach and Resource Centre (SORC), and Marie-Noël Campbell, Executive Director of Seniors First BC, last Friday night before closing the SORC office, at the end of our third pro bono legal clinic in Kelowna since mid-October.
Carolyne coordinated the clinics with members of the SFBC legal team and helped ensure clinic ran efficiently – with zero no shows so far!
20 wills, powers of attorney, and representation agreements have been executed so far, in addition to legal support given to older clients of limited means with concerns about financial exploitation.
Huge thanks to the incredible community that has come together to make these legal clinics possible. Core funding is provided by the Law Foundation of BC, with additional support from Seniors Services Society of BC’s SHINE Program, funded by the Province of BC.
Seniors First BC be back to Kelowna early in the New Year!
Seniors First BC is a charitable, non-profit society that provides information, advocacy, and support to seniors across BC who are dealing with issues affecting their well-being.
