SFBC Visits Elders at Chawathil First Nation and Tillicum Lelum Aboriginal Friendship Centre

On Nov. 5, Marie-Noël Campbell, Executive Director of Seniors First BC, and Angelina Gordon of the Public Guardian & Trustee of BC, were invited by the Chawathil First Nation in Hope to present on Financial Literacy, Frauds and Scams and Elder Abuse prevention at a (delicious) luncheon. Dan Levitt, the BC Seniors Advocate, joined to listen to the Elders and share information about the Office of the Seniors Advocate (picture 1).

On Nov. 7, Marie-Noël also presented on wills, powers of attorney and representation agreements to Elders and seniors at the Tillicum Lelum Aboriginal Friendship Centre (picture 2) while Randean Bratosh, Elder's Program Coordinator (who arranged the event), and Brian Elliot, an Elder and Cultural Wellness Support, cooked delicious chili and corn bread (picture 3).

Two great events with great people and great food!
